Posted by Walter Connelly on

If you are in need of a quick and easy corner guard option that will blend into your wall, you may want to consider paintable corner guards.

Benefits of Paintable Corner Guards

  • Cheap
  • Blends into wall - texture
  • Can be touched up to cover up damage

Cautions/Concerns with Paintable Corner Guards

  • Requires frequent touchups
  • Less protection
  • Needs to be installed earlier

Alternatives to Paintable Corner Guards

There are a couple different options if you don't want to choose paintable corner guards. First, you could purchase a vinyl or plastic corner guard that is a similar color.

A second option is choosing an accent color. For instance, if you have a blue wall you could select a yellow corner guard, a complementary color on the color wheel.

The final option is a custom color match. This will be the most expensive option and is normal only selected when there is a high quantity of corner guards.

Hi Wilf,

This is a good residential-grade product that would work well in your application. You can install the corner guard and paint it with the wall paint so that it blends in. This will keep the wall from being dented, and will be easy to touch up with more paint if it get’s scratched over time. Hope that helps!

I just renovated my kitchen and hallway. The high traffic, no matter how some is careful, dings the corner of the wall…which leaves a depression and dent.

I’m thinking of using this.

what do you think?

Thanks,
wilf
